Even more introspection in leaked next James Bond's scenario

It was just when "Spectre", the new opus in the always so popular James Bond saga, hit the theaters that the scenario for the next film of the serie was leaked in the media. 

Indeed, the cultural journalist at La Rpesse learned that the title of the next James Bond movie will be "Inwards haunting".  The plot will be in the direct lineage of what we saw with Daniel Craig's previous performances, where he incarnated a tormented secret agent, fighting his own demons.

The writers will explore even further the character's introspection by making the plot (breathtaking, according to our journalist) revolve around James Bond's visits to his psychiatrist, with high-speed taxi races back and forth between his apartment and the doctor's office, exclusively in London.  This time, the villain will be no other than his own Freudian superego, trying to prevent him from satisfying his revenge desires.  

To this date, the actor hasn't been officially chosen, but Gary Oldman is in a good position to get the role, according to - confirmed - director Michael Haneke (The White Ribbon, Love, Funny Games).  With probable date of release towards the end of 2017, record-breaking grossings are expected.  

Classics of scientific literature in audiobooks cure insomnia

An unforeseen consequence

With the aim of increased public exposure to scientific articles, the Canadian Health Institutes of Research (CIHR) started the production of a whole new style of audiobook, narrating the best papers of the last decade: The Audioscientific Article.  

Despite high quality narration by Sir David Attenborough, the CIHR project encountered an important problem.  Indeed, nobody seemed able to produce an objective evaluation of the product since every single one of the beta testers fell asleep after 8 minutes (on average) into the audioarticle.  They just can't get past the title and the list of authors with their affiliations. 

"I usually suffer from insomnia, but I found that the audioarticle "MicroRNA let-7a represses chemoresistance and tumourigenicity in head and neck cancer via stem-like properties ablation", by Cheng Chia Yu, Yi Wei Chen, Guang Yuh Chiou, Lo Lin Tsai, Pin I. Huang, Charn Yung Chang, Ling Ming Tseng, Shih Hwa Chiou, Sang Hue Yen, Ming Yung Chou, Pen Yuan Chu and Wen Liang Lo is extremely efficient at making me fall asleep", one of the evaluators told us.

Negative impact on world markets

Releasing those audioarticles significantly increased the consumption of coffee from the listeners, who are trying to fight the induced dizziness and torpor.  It was reported that some listeners were drinking up to 1.5 liters of coffee per hour, for several continuous hours, trying to at least reach the abstract section.  This perhaps provides an explanation for the recent rise in coffee grains prices.  

A treatment against chronic insomnia

Seizing the opportunity, the CIHR will support a clinical trial aiming to cure all patients suffering from the disease.  The objectives of this study will be to test a) its specificity - e.g. whether articles about integrative genomics are better than pharmacoeconomics, for example -, b) its efficacy -  especially on school-aged children who seem unable to fall asleep before 21:00 on weeknights -, and finally c) its safety - if falling asleep without knowing the end of the article causes incapacitating frustration to the listener.   

To learn about the results of this research, the CIHR invites the population to download the audioarticle on the study, scheduled for release in the coming weeks.

Un effet stupéfiant

Voulant rejoindre un plus large publique, les Instituts de Recherche en Santé du Canada (IRSC-CIHR) ont entrepris la création d'un podcast, sous forme de livres audio, ayant pour sujet les plus intéressants articles scientifiques de la dernière décennie: l'audioarticle scientifique.

Malgré une narration de très haute qualité, confiée à Guy Nadon, les responsables du projet aux IRSC rencontrent un problème de taille.  En effet, personne n'est capable de faire une analyse objective du produit puisque tous les évaluateurs tombent endormis avant d'avoir pu apprécier l'entièreté de l'audioarticle.  La majorité des auditeurs-tests s'endorment après 8 minutes d'écoute seulement, autrement dit après n'avoir pu entendre que le titre de l'article ainsi que la liste des auteurs et leurs affiliations.

Un coutrecoup inattendu sur les marchés mondiaux

Le lancement-test de ces audioarticles a entraîné une très forte hausse de la consommation de café chez les auditeurs, qui essaient de lutter contre la torpeur provoquée par leur écoute.  Certains ont même admis une consommation de 1.5 litres de café à l'heure, pendant plusieurs heures d'écoute consécutives.  La cause de la hausse du prix du café brut sur les marchés semble maintenant être connue.

Un remède contre l'insomnie chronique

Saisissant la balle au bond, les IRSC financeront une étude clinique ayant pour but la guérison à long terme des gens souffrant d'insomnie chronique avec lesdits podcasts.  Cette étude voudra déterminer a) sa spécificité - i.e. si les articles de génomique intégrative fonctionnent mieux que ceux de pharmacoéconomie, b) son efficacité - particulièrement sur les enfants d'âge scolaire incapables de s'endormir avant 21:00 les soirs de semaine et c) son innocuité - si le fait de s'endormir avant de connaître la fin créé de la frustration chez l'auditeur.

Pour prendre connaissance des résultats de cette étude, les IRSC invitent  la population à écouter l'audioarticle qui sera produit sous peu.

De remarquables oubliés revient à l'antenne, Serge Bouchard fait une émission sur lui-même

C'est avec bonheur que les auditeurs de Radio-Canada ont appris cette semaine le retour tant attendu de l'émission "De remarquables oubliés", à la Première Chaîne radio francophone du diffuseur publique.  

Pour marquer son retour, l'animateur Serge Bouchard consacrera son émission à Serge Bouchard, extraordinaire animateur radio de l'émission "De remarquables oubliés", remarquablement oublié par la programmation de Radio-Canada.  

Toujours dans le même format et réalisé par Rachel Verdon, le parcours d'historien anthropologue, d'abord, d'écrivain et d'homme de radio, d'abord chroniqueur et ensuite animateur de Serge Bouchard, sera relaté.

Gary Oldman serait le prochain James Bond.

C'est au moment où "Spectre", le nouvel opus de la série à succès James Bond, est toujours en salle, qu'une fuite a eu lieu concernant le prochain film de la série.

En effet, La Rpesse a appris que le titre du prochain James Bond serait "Inwards haunting".  Le scénario coulé révèle que nous serons dans la continuité des derniers opus dont la vedette était Daniel Craig, où ce dernier composait un personnage avec beaucoup de profondeur, plus tourmenté et devant faire face à ses démons intérieurs.  

Les auteurs et scénaristes veulent aller encore plus loin dans l'introspection en situant cette fois-ci l'intrigue (tout-à-fait enlevante, selon notre journaliste) uniquement à Londres, où se dérouleront des courses-poursuites de taxi entre l'appartement de James Bond et le cabinet de son psychologue, et vice-versa.  Le vilain ne sera autre que son Surmoi, qui cherchera à l'empêcher d'assouvir ses désirs de vengeance.

Le rôle n'a à cette heure pas encore été attribué, mais Gary Oldman est pressenti par le réalisateur -confirmé- Michael Haneke (Le Ruban Blanc, Amour) pour en assurer le titre.  Attendu pour 2017, on prévoit des recettes records au box-office.
